The AFC.comUEFA futsal refs to attend AFC Elite Education Seminar 2010Monday, 14 December 2009KUALA LUMPUR: Two referees from Europe will join the AFC Futsal Referee Course during next year’s AFC Elite Education Seminar in the first-ever exchange programme with European governing body UEFA.
Jan Kresta, of the Czech Republic, and England’s Mark Birkett will be among the futsal referees attending the course, which will have UEFA’s Andrea Lastrucci, of Italy, as one of its instructors.
“We had some of our guys go to one of UEFA’s futsal courses and now we have two from UEFA coming to our course,” said AFC Referees Department Director Yoshimi Ogawa.
“This is the first time we are having such an exchange with UEFA.”
The futsal referees course is one of 12 courses for referees at the EES, which is expecting to see almost 200 referees, referees assessors and instructors attend during January and Febuary, 2010.
The referees' courses are as follows: New Referee Assessor Course, Referee Assessors, Referee Recruiter, New Referee Instructors, Referee Instructors, New Elite Referees, Elite Men’s Referees (Groups 1 and 2), Elite Women Referees, Referee Fitness Instructors, Disability Football Referee Instructors, Futsal Referee Instructors and Futsal Referees.
The Elite Education Seminar 2010 runs from January 10 to February 8.
