Local trio creating history

07 Jan, 2010

Three Futsal Indoor Soccer players from the local region — Bryce Chapman of Wallerawang and Jack and Tom Clough of Lithgow — will represent ‘Western NSW’ for the first time in the history of the sport.
They are off to the 31st National Futsal Championships of Football Federation Australia to be held in Canberra from January 11 to 15.

The Western NSW Futsal Association Incorporated organises Futsal (five a side indoor soccer) at Wallerawang Indoor Sports Centre played on Wednesdays for seniors and Fridays for juniors.

The recent successful completion of the first season of local competition saw participation of two ‘select’ teams in the Football NSW State Futsal Championships in October 2009.

Players of other regions will complete the line up of teams in under 14s and 16s boys travelling to Canberra next week.

The Western NSW Futsal Association Incorporated is very proud to organise these teams.

“We also extend thanks to the sanction by Football NSW and Football Federation Australia for the opportunity of our region’s development for the first time at National level,” the president of the Western NSW Futsal Association Incorporated Jonathan Simnett, said.

The Association wishes good luck to all players and officials participating.
