The FA.com New season upon usThursday, 07 January, 2010National Futsal Leagues set to commence this Sunday. The country’s top Futsal clubs commence battle once again this month, with the kick-off of the third season of The FA National Futsal Leagues this weekend.
The new season promises to be the most exciting yet, with the leading Futsal clubs in England going head-to-head at their own home-venues, starting on Sunday 10 January.
In previous seasons, the Leagues have been run out of central venues, but in an exciting move for this season each club has now found a home venue from which local support can come and cheer on their local club.
The FA National Futsal Leagues are divided into three regional leagues: the North, South and Midlands leagues. Each regional league has eight clubs that will play against each other throughout the season until the mid-June.
The top teams from each of the three regional leagues will then meet in an exciting heavyweight clash in The FA National Futsal Leagues Grand Finals which will take place in July.
Helvecia were the 2009 national champions, as well as FA Futsal Cup winners, so will no doubt start as favourites again. But if any of the other clubs are able to rise to the challenge of knocking the London team off their perch in 2010 to claim the title, it should be an exciting campaign.
