The second day is here! Following the same sequence of the past year, yesterday we have crowned
Alina Gorobets as
Best Women Player of the World. But the
UMBRO Futsal Awards 2009 - 10th Edition by Futsalplanet.com show must go on, and we're ready for one more category winner.
So, which is the
Best Club of the World in the year 2009? There were really few doubts about the winner, as the
gaucho team
Carlos Barbosa experienced an unforgettable year!
TetracampeãNovember 2009 is not going to be easily forgotten by the
torcida laranja. The club from Carlos Barbosa, Rio Grande Do Sul state of Brazil, got both the most important brazilian titles in a double that only dream teams can think about. A mix of experience and young talent,
ACBF began its golden month by defeating the classic catarinense enemy
Malwee in the fight for the
fourth Liga Futsal title ownership. Two heart attack finals gave the title to the gauchos, and the party could start!
Taça Brasil: mission accomplishedCan you even think to win the most traditional and important competition of the country, just more than 20 days after celebrating the Liga Futsal title? As a matter of fact, the ACBF guys were looking for that. And the tournament was a perfect run for the
Paulo Mussalem's roster, until the thrilling final won only at the end of the penalty series against Tigre/Natto. The double was here!
Tríplice Coroa: completedThere was just a final piece missing, last but not least. We obviously refer to the estadual league of Rio Grande Do Sul, the
gauchão. Believe it or not,
Carlos Barbosa showed not to be yet satisfied with titles achieved in November, and decided to give a great Christmas gift to their fans. As happened for Malwee and Tigre/Natto, not even
Assoeva could resist to the black&orange machine, beeing thrashed by 6-1 in the second leg final. That was the 7th state title for ACBF, not that bad considering that the gauchao is one of the hardest estadual leagues of all Brazil.
We don't need any reason more to announce
Carlos Barbosa as the winner of the
Best Club of the World category of the
UMBRO Futsal Awards 2009 - 10th Edition by Futsalplanet.com!!
