Cardiff City get indoor Futsal

DUE to the recent bad weather Cardiff City ladies have not played a fixture for almost two months with their 3-2 league defeat against West Ham being their last fixture mid November.

Just before Christmas, Cardiff entered four teams in the Futsal Xmas Cup with three of the teams progressing into the semi-finals with Cardiff City Orange outplaying Cardiff City Blue in the final to take the Futsal Championship Cup. The winning team included Ellie Smith, Libby Timney, Sophie Ford and Welsh internationals Natasha Harding, Rhian Nokes and Lauren Townsend

Cardiff have been using the new indoor Futsal centre at Llanishen as a training venue this season and have been grateful to get some training in during the recent bad weather, which has decimated their fixture schedule.

This coming Sunday Cardiff hope to beat the weather and kick-start their season by defending their Welsh Cup crown when they travel to Caernarfon Town for a third round clash.

On Sunday, January 24, Cardiff entertain Havant and Waterlooville for the delayed third round FA Cup fixture that has been postponed twice over the past weeks at Havant with the fixture now being reversed to Cardiff’s home advantage.

Kick off will be 1pm at Cardiff International Sports Stadium. The winners of that tie have been drawn away in the fourth round to Premier League side Doncaster Rovers Belles.
