Elliot Ragomo has been described by Spanish magazine company Macer as Solomon Islands ambassador and star.

“Ragomo has impacted a lot of youths and players in the game of futsal and has received the youth award for the best young player by FIFA in October last year”, said Macer reporter Sergio Hernadez.

The award was given to him on the criterion that he began to develop as a young star during and after the height of the ethnic tension in the Solomon’s.

They described it as the time when the country (Solomon Islands) portrayed a poor image to the world, Ragomo at that time began to develop a good image for his country to the world, through futsal.

“He has placed Solomon Islands on the map and made known the country to many other countries around the world”, Hernadez quoted.

“In an interview during the awards night Elliot said it was a remarkable achievement to be a good Solomon Islander to the world. He only wished if his mother could be there to watch him and be proud of him”.

Hernadez reported that Ragomo returned for the festive season but the media were been unable to track him down due to his travels which were very confidential.

Elliot Ragomo will probably be playing in the Asian club championship with NSW thunder this year but it is still yet to be confirmed.

“I was invited to play for the NSW thunder at the Asian Club championship this year but that will be decided by the management for the Club I am currently playing for” Ragomo said.

He said he has been helping to coach Dural warriors, a futsal team in Australia.

One of the biggest achievements Ragomo would like to aim for is to bring Kurukuru team to the best heighest world rank in Futsal.

He urged fellow young players that there are many opportunities out there and there are many ways to go about them.

“Work hard and you will achieve what you like”, Ragomo said.

Ragomo thanked the Solomon Islands government, Dural sports and SIFF for helping futsal in the Solomons and to his families, friends and supporters.
