one more edition of the UMBRO Futsal Awards by Futsalplanet.com came to an end, let's hope you have enjoyed them! As always we'd like to remind that we intend this event just as a worldwide party of futsal, the sport we love. Anyway all criticisms are welcome, and if you have good suggestions to improve them, let us know what do you think!

But now is time to know... who's the winner of the Best Player of the World category of of the UMBRO Futsal Awards 2009 - 10th Edition by Futsalplanet.com?

Our choice comes again from the LNFS Division de Honor (twelve months ago on the Interviu star Schumacher): stand up and pay tribute to the spanish national team crack Kike!

Spanish satisfaction
Though the very beginning of the year was not the dreamed one, as ElPozo fell to Caja Segovia in the Super Cup semifinal, Enrique Boned Guillot, in futsal universally known and admired as Kike, found his first 2009 achievements with the red shirt of Spain, getting a first class ticket for the Hungarian finals to begin tomorrow in Debrecen and Budapest. No surprises from Badajoz: Kike keep on beeing one of the most important pillars of Spain.

The captain, the brain
The more you show tactical intelligence, the better. In an extremely fast sport like futsal you have always to know what to do, this will hugely help your team mates as well. No doubts on the fact that the ElPozo's captain Kike is one of the "best working brains" ever seen on the futsal stage. Experience and leadership, technique and garra: it's definitely hard to find a weak point in the valencian machine. The year 2009 just registered the "usual qualities" in Kike, we wonder how many players in the world can offer this standard along their whole career.

Perfect play-off
The 2009 momentum was anyway yet to come in Kike's year. Since the middle of May the spanish impressive cierre leaded his ElPozo to six consecutive wins over MRA Navarra, Lobelle de Santiago and the archrivals of Inter Movistar. That was exactly the needed work load in order to come back on the top of the spanish league after one year of fasting. Though the year ending registered the UEFA Futsal Cup disappointment in Conegliano, Kike seems ready to live another futsal year as absolute protagonist, the LNFS Super Cup just celebrated and conquered by ElPozo is there to prove it.

Trayectoria imparable
We know that this final note has nothing to do with the "futsal 2009", but we take the chance to pay tribute to Kike as absolute icon of this discipline, brilliant example of fair play and loyalty in the pitch. Let's hope that future ambassadors of futsal can come out from great players like him rather than from retired soccer "stars". Give futsal to futsal people!
