Iran thrash Belgium in futsal friendly

TEHRAN: Iran continued their preparations for the 2010 AFC Futsal Championship with impressive results against Belgium in friendlies recently.

The nine-time Asian champions will be taking another shot at the continental glory when the biennial AFC Futsal Championship takes place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from May 23 to 30.

Iran thrashed UEFA Futsal Championship hopefuls Belgium 5-1 in the first match and were held 4-4 in the second.

2008 AFC Futsal Player of the Year Vahid Shamsaee and Mohammad Taheri netted two goals each in the first game while Masood Daneshvar added fifth.

Taheri again scored a brace in the second while Shamsaee and Ali Asghar Hassan Zadeh scoring a goal each.
