FUTSAL CAPTAIN KILBRIDE ON BBC TEES WITH ALI BROWNLEE TONIGHT

20 Jan 2010

Boro captain Jason Kilbride is joining North Riding County FA PR Officer Alan Geddes on BBC Tees Sport this evening night with Ali Brownlee. Kilbride has captained the team to two wins out of two in Boro's title defence season and has scored twice in the process.

Peterborough born Kilbride, who turns 21 next month, joined Boro in 2007, making his debut against Acklam.

The winger scored 26 goals in all competitions last season, finishing third behind top scorer Matt Wootton (38) - now playing in Italy, and former captain Ryon Leyshon who scored 29 goals in the 2009 title winning campaign and is now part of the England futsal set up.

Boro have a proud tradition of producing players who go on to play for England, with three former Boro skippers Ryon Leyshon, Ben Mortlock and Curtis Holmes all currently playing for the national side.

Kilbride has some tough acts to follow as captain, but is relishing the chance and has international ambitions himself. "It's an honour to captain Boro, and I hope I can carry on Boro's proud record and go on to play for England. Damon wouldn't have selected me if he didn't think I have the potential so I will work hard for the team and I'm only young so who knows."
