Boro FutsalBoro unveil new sponsorsSunday, 24 January 2010Middlesbrough Futsal Club have today unveiled two new sponsors for the current season. The 'lovemiddlesbrough' image campaign has become the club's main sponsor and will have its logo on the front of the home shirt. With Middlesbrough travelling around the country playing in The FA Futsal League North, their strip is a perfect place to promote the region.
Hilton Wordsworth Financial Services Ltd. will sponsor the rear of the strip and become a club sponsor.
Boro Chairman Damon Shaw is delighted to have sealed the two deals which will go a long way to helping the club retain its FA Futsal League North title.
"Love Middlesbrough and Hilton Wordsworth Financial Services have both come to the rescue of the club and will allow us to compete at the top without the worry of how we are going to fund the next away match. We can now also get back to playing in our own colours, though Darlington Football Club have been a great help with provision of a temporary strip.
"We are in talks with a few more companies and we should be able to reach our target with those and our planned sportsman's dinner.
"We are really proud of the town and to be able to promote the town on the front of our strips is an honour. 10 of the 13 players in the squad come from the area, and the others moved here to study. We have done the town proud with last season's league win and hope to repeat that and go even further with the backing of 'lovemiddlesbrough' and other sponsors such as Hilton Wordsworth Financial Services."
Claire Wordsworth of Love Middlesbrough hopes that Middlesbrough can bring more silverware back to the town and further raise its profile as an upcoming place to live.
"The futsal team really have done the town proud and I am delighted to join forces with them in promoting Middlesbrough. To have our logo on the front of the shirt, which is recognised all over Europe is an excellent way to make people aware of our campaign and hopefully will attract people to the town. I wish Boro all the best for the season and I will certainly be taking my family along to some of their home matches!"
Claire's husband, Hilton Wordsworth, owner of HW Financial Services is also pleased to be associated with Middlesbrough Futsal Club.
"I am looking forward to seeing my logo on the back of the strip and we'll certainly be going along to support the team with our two boys who are mad about football. It's a shame to see a club doing so well struggling to find sponsorship to cover their costs, so I am happy to be able to help out."
