Azerbaijan’s futsal team fourth in European championship

The 2010 European futsal championship ended in Hungary.

According to News.Az, the teams from Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic met in the last but one match of the contest struggling for the third place. The game ended in the victory of the Czech national team (5:3). Meanwhile, at the group stage Azerbaijan beat Czechs 6:1.

This time the spirit of the teams was different. Czechs were able to get ready for the meeting for the third place after losing to the Spanish team 1:8, while the Azerbaijani team that lost to Portufal in the penalty series failed to do so. Azerbaijani team also lacked the leader and the best player Biro Jade due to his disqualification.

On the 27th second Mikhal Belej scored a goal. In seven minutes Vitali Borisov gained the balance while Serzhao scored another goal just a minute before the end of the first time.

But the second time worked fully in Czechs’ favor. They scored three goals (4:2). One more goal was scored by Rajab Farajzade but the balance was not restored. In addition, in 9 seconds before the end of the match Marek Kopechki brought complete victory to his team – 5:3.

This was the debut of the Azerbaijani team in such a big contest as the European championship and Biro Jade was declared the best bombardiers of the contest with five goals.
