Zambia enters futsal tourney

FAZ has entered the futsal national team in the race for the 2010 Burkina Faso Futsal Championships.

FAZ communications officer Erick Mwanza said details of participation would be availed soon.

"We have entered Zambia for the 2010 Benin Futsal Championships set for 10-24th December. We will communicate the details in due course," Mwanza said.

According to the CAF calendar, December 10 to 24, 2010 will be reserved for the African Futsal Championships in Burkina Faso at which 14 teams are expected to participate. Mwanza also said preparations for the opening of the season were underway with the first phase of inspections of stadia set for this weekend.

"Preparations for the 2010 season are underway, we are going to undertake inspection of venues. The first phase will take place this weekend and end on 6-7 March," he said.

Mwanza said preparations for the 2010 Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) awards at which clubs and players are awarded had reached an advanced stage.

"Right now clubs, coaches and captains have sent nominations on who they feel should be player of the year, young player of the year," said Mwanza.
