Nawrouz FC suspended from AFC Futsal Club Championship

KUALA LUMPUR: Iraqi outfit Nawrouz FC have been suspended from the inaugural AFC Futsal Club Championship (Esfahan).

The move follows FIFA’s continued suspension of the Iraqi Football Association as of Wednesday.

Following Nawroz FC’s suspension, Group A will now comprise Foolad Mahan Sepahan (Iran), Nagoya Oceans (Japan), Stroitel Zarafshan (Uzbekistan), and AUB Altyn Tash Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).

All the matches of Nawrouz FC will be void.

Group B is made up of Port Authority of Thailand (Thailand), Wuhan Dilong (China), New South Wales Thunder (Australia), Pro’s Café (Lebanon) and Al Sadd (Qatar).

The competition takes place at the Pirouzi Stadium in Esfahan from 4-12 March.
