MASCOT Futsal star Roger Cua has been selected by Qantas Futsalroos coach Steven Knight for a chance for the team to qualify for the AFC Futsal Championship.

The Qantas Futsalroos are made of 13 local and international players, they will be heading to Indonesia later this month for the ASEAN zone qualifiers.

Cua has also been named the team’s goalkeeping coach among other team officials.

“The competition in Indonesia will be very tough, in particular the host nation who will have the home court advantage, but I’m confident that we can do the job,” concluded Knight.

The team participated in a charity match against the NSW Thunder on February 14 to raise money for the Sherry Orphan Family Appeal.

The Sherry family was very active with the Campbelltown Quake Futsal Club. The team was inspired to help the cause when they heard that Joseph and Carole Sherry had drowned in Ballina trying to save their children from a rip.

The charity match will aid the orphaned children and help raise awareness in about the risks of drowning in Australia.
