Nhan DanVietnam qualify for 2010 Asian Futsal Championship FinalsNhan Dan – The national futsal team of Vietnam defeated Malaysia 6-3 yesterday to win the third ticket to the finals of the 2010 Futsal Championship.
The unfortunate loss to Australia in the qualifiers’ semi-finals made the national team start the game against Malaysia with strong determination to win.
Minh Giang opened the score for Vietnam in the 5th minute. After the opening goal, Vietnam created several scoring chances but missed them all. And they had to regret it as two consecutive goals by Kadir and Khairul helped Malaysia take the lead of 2-1. Bao Quan equalised forVietnam in the 19th minute.
After the break, Malaysia once again took the lead with a goal by Bahrin. Vietnam had the precious equaliser in the final minute of the game. Three goals by Hoang Giang, Duy Khanh, Bao Quan in the extra time helped Vietnam beat Malaysia 6-3.
With this victory, Vietnam for the first time earned a berth to play at the finals of the Asian Futsal Championship, due to be held in Uzbekistan from May 23-30.
