Aspire female staff becomes Futsal referee

A member of staff at the Aspire Multi- Sports Skill Development Center, Sara Abdulrahman al-Dossari, has qualified to become a Futsal referee. Sara, who is a coach at the MSDC, passed the exam in the second session for Women Futsal Referees, which was held at the Ladies Club in the ASPIRE Zone Foundation, from February 28th to March 2nd, 2010.

This second Women Futsal Referees session was organized jointly by the Qatar Women’s Sports Committee (QWSC) and the Qatar Football Association (QFA). Sara’s qualification means she is now eligible to officiate at women’s Futsal matches.

Her first official match will be today, when she will be the main referee for the opening match in the second Women’s Futsal Championships, being held in the Ladies Club hall.

Sara said: “I am delighted and honoured to have qualified to be a Futsal referee. I would like to thank both ASPIRE and the QWSC for the help and encouragement they have given me. I look forward to making my own contribution to the development of women’s
sport in Qatar. And, one day, to be chosen as Qatar’s representative to referee at an international Futsal tournament.”
