International futsal stars all set for Hereford tournament

HEREFORDSHIRE schoolchildren will be taking part in a two-day city-based international football festival which kicks off on Good Friday, April 2.

England, Finland, Malta and Turkey are coming to Hereford for an FA Four Nations International Futsal Tournament.

Futsal is played between two teams of five players on a hard-court surface.

Junior teams from Herefordshire will also be showcasing their futsal skills in four development matches.

The event is being held at thePoint4 sports facility at the Royal National College for the Blind in Venns Lane. The first international match kicks off at 5.30pm on Good Friday and will be followed by the second game at 7.45pm.

But, before the main fixtures, there will be a 30-minute junior development match involving Bishop’s School under-14 girls and Weobley High School at 3.45pm.

Hinton under-10 boys will then meet Bromsgrove Futsal Club in a match which kicks off at 4.20pm.

The tournament’s third-and-fourth-place play-off match starts at 4.45pm on Saturday, April 3 with the grand final scheduled for 7pm.

Before that, Bartestree under-12 boys will play Pegasus Juniors at 3pm with Aylestone School under-16 girls taking on Bishop’s School at 3.35pm.
