THE futsal coaching course that is set for more than 30-40 participants will kick-off Monday next week.

SIFF Small Sided Games Development Officer, Victor Waii confirm to Star Sport yesterday that futsal coaching training will be conducted for four days.

The initiative was announced after SIFF Small Sided Games Office obtains confirmation from the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Oceania Futsal Project manager, Scott Gilligan two weeks ago.

Waii said the training aims to elevate level one coaching in futsal. “Aims at coaches who manage clubs in the SIFF Honiara Men’s open futsal league last year and school sport masters of under-14 futsal league’’, said Waii. “

The clubs are invited to send one representative each along with school sport masters who manage the under-14 league last year to attend the training”.

Waii said the training will be facilitated by Oceania Futsal Project manager, Scott Gilligan as this will be OFC level futsal coaching course.

He added a registration fee of $20 is to be paid by each participant as the registration will also close on Monday.

This would be another important step forward for developing futsal in the country, said Waii.

He added the venue will be confirmed later but futsal coaching training will start Monday next week.

This will be the second futsal course conducted as the first one was on basic futsal refereeing course held in February.
