Level One Futsal Coaching Course kicks-off at the SIFF Academy yesterday with few coaches attended the opening of the course.

SIFF development officer Victor Waii said only eight coaches’ turn-up for the training as more are yet to attend.

Coaches from Malaita and Isabel are yet to make their participation plus the training will involves new and old coaches and those who participate in the recent Futsal championship, said Waii.

He said level one coaching is a significant course that is initiated by OFC to develop futsal in the country.

“This aims to assist new coaches to understand the basic of futsal coaching and to elevate level one coaching in futsal development”.

Waii said coaches will be introducde to introduction to futsal, rules of the game, practical assessments that will be carried out in the field where basic rules will be applied.

He said all activities will be carried out in the field, based on basics.

He also added a written exam will be tried at the end of the training to test participants how well they understand the level one futsal course.

The coaching course will run for four days at the SIFF academy where Scott Gilligan, the Oceania Football Confederation Win In Oceania Futsal Manager is the facilitor.

Level one coaching course is the second futsal course to be conducted as the first course on basic futsal refereeing course was held in February.
