Local futsal players wanted

12th April 2010

FUTSAL in Grafton and Yamba are looking for people who are wanting to play sport inside out of the cold this winter.

There will be a Mixed Social and a Men’s Competition being run during school terms two and three at the Grafton Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre and in the new Yamba Indoor Sports Centre.

So grab yourself and a few mates and family or even your work colleagues and warm yourself up with a fun social game of futsal this winter. Registration will be $25 per player plus a team fee each week. Games will be held on either Monday Nights in Yamba and Monday and Wednesday nights in Grafton.

There is a minimum age of 13 years old to play and a requirement of two females per team. If you are interested in entering a team please contact Ashley Collins on 0458 201 132 or email at ashley.c@vikingsfutsal.net.

You can find more information at www.vikingsfutsal.com.

North Coast Futsal would like to extend their congratulations to Britt Hargreaves of Wauchope for being selected in the Australian women’s Futsal World Cup squad that will be held in October this year.

It is an amazing feat for Britt as she is still only 16 turning 17 later this month.

Britt has consistently been in the Northern NSW representative women’s team as goalkeeper now since 2008 and has continually impressed selectors and toured in her respective age group to Brazil last year.

Thanks to this milestone of Britt’s it seems that the Australian women’s squad will be having a training camp somewhere in the North Coast to hopefully encourage more girls like Britt to continue with their futsal and to obviously try and scout out some fresh talent here in country areas.

More information will be forthcoming about the training camp and how you can be involved.
