Maloney futsal set for May 29

Tomorrow is the final day for registration for the second edition of the Maloney Champions League five-a-side futsal tournament, which kicks off at 10 a.m. on May 29 at the Maloney Indoor Sports Arena.

The League was conceived by the group PROGRESS (People Responsible for the Overall Growth & Empowerment of the Social Sector) as a positive alternative to crime and targets footballers from Maloney.

Among improvements in the league for 2010 are the use of qualified officials, as well an increase in prize money.

Registration is $500 per team and each team that registers will receive 12 wristbands (for players and two managers), two cases of water and unlimited Gatorade for players/managers.

Registration closes tomorrow at 7 p.m.
