Middlesbrough Futsal Club
BORO TAKE ON LEAGUE LEADERS

Middlesbrough Futsal Club play their third home game of the season on Sunday when they host league leaders Manchester at Thornaby Pavilion, kick off 2pm and hope the support of the locals can spur them on to the playoffs.

It’s a perfect chance for Middlesbrough to get their season back on track in front of the home fans, and manager Damon Shaw wants to see fans turnout in their numbers to watch Boro play the Brazilian version of 5-a-side football.

“To play in front of fans, especially against the league leaders, will give us an advantage. Futsal is an excellent game to watch and the skills, goals and drama on show will make sure everyone will enjoy it. It’s only £1 in for children and we’re giving away inflatable thunder sticks so they can make some noise!”

Manchester have only lost one game this season, and that was against Boro on the opening day of the season, so it’s going to be a tough task, given the difference in form of both sides, but leading scorer Robbie Bettson is confident the team can turn things around.

“We were flying at the start of the season, but we’ve suffered a bit of a hangover since winning the University Championships [for Teesside University] and we need to turn that around. We’ve got a good team, which we proved by winning BUCS (British University & College Sports), so as long as we play to our strengths on Sunday and for the rest of the season we’re confident we can reach the playoffs.”

Support Boro in their quest for the national title. Tickets cost £2 for adults and £1 for kids with a family ticket costing £4. They can be bought online at BoroFutsal.com or you can pay on the day. The doors open at 1pm and kick off is at 2pm at Thornaby Pavilion.
