16 teams to vie for Coneli Cup

Sixteen teams will vie for the Coneli Cup and champion prize money of $2,500 in a Futsal Championship organised by RizFiz Enterprise which will kick-off today (1st leg).

All the participating teams were divided into four groups in which Puspa United FC ‘A’, Xbiz Futsal, Part Time and Satria are in Group A followed by UBD FT, Puspa United FC ‘B’, The Swiss Hotel/Apartment FT and RizFiz FC in Group B.

This two groups will start playing today at 2.30pm until 6pm.

Group C consists of Red Butterfly, Eagle FT, Fuyoo United and Western FT and in Group D are Shah United, Arbisyam FC, Seekers and Kickers. Group C and D will kick-off at 6pm until 10pm.

The 2nd leg will be on April 25 (Sunday) starting at 8am.

“I am very grateful with the cooperation shown by the Coneli’s side and satisfied that we can bring the Coneli’s brand into the country,” said the championship chairman, Fendi Bohary Hj Bujang.

However, when asked about the response to the championship, the chairman expressed his dissatisfaction.

“The championship is open up to 32 teams. However I am a bit dissatisfied with only 16 futsal teams taking part,” said Fendi Bohary after the draw.

Besides the prize money, the championship top goal scorer and the final’s best player will also receive prizes.
