The AFC.comAFC turns down Iran's Shamsaee requestThursday, 06 May 2010Kuala Lumpur: The AFC has rejected a request by the Iran Football Federation to change one of their players for the AFC Futsal Championship Uzbekistan 2010 Finals.
Iran had asked to replace Shahram Sharifzadeh Borhan (No. 15) with Vahid Shamsaee, the AFC Futsal Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008.
The AFC rejected the request citing Article 32.b), which stipulates: “Once the AFC Official Registration Form has been received by AFC and after the date of deadline, under no circumstances will the Member Association be allowed to submit additional names of players for registrations, even if their quote of twenty (20) players have not been fulfilled.”
The tournament is scheduled for May 20-30 in Uzbekistan.
