Trend NewsParticipants of futsal tournament among media outlets dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev’s memory awarded07.05.2010The winners of futsal tournament on the occasion of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliye's 87th anniversary of birth are announced.
"The winner of the competition among the media outlets was the AzTV team," Akif Ashirly, chief editor of "Sharq" newspaper, which organized the tournament, said at a ceremony held in Trend.
According to him, the team of the Public Television ranked second in the futsal tournament, general sponsor of which is the Akkord Group of Companies. "Team of the Space television channel took third place in the match," Ashirly said.
Organizer said the tournament was attended by 10 teams. "The winners were awarded cash prizes worth 1000, 500 and 300 manat respectively," Ashirly said.
The tournament dedicated to Heydar Aliyev's memory is held seven year running.
"Heydar Aliyev has always cared about the press, took the necessary steps to prevent harassment of journalists, as well as to strengthen the material base of the media outlets. We, in our turn, as a sign of respect to the memory of national leader are holding this tournament for seven years," Ashirly stressed.
Players distinguished during the futsal tournament were awarded special prizes at the event.
