P&L Team are futsal champs

Kota Kinabalu: P & L Team and De Reunion emerge champions in the Men and Women category, respectively, for the Sabah Lius' Chan Peng-Cheng Association Futsal Competition.

Organising Chairman, Liew Kim Fook said 38 teams took part in the competition held at Penampang Futsal on May 1.

Presenting the prizes was President, Datuk Liew Teck Chan.

P & L Team won RM1,500 for their feat while second place, Sempoi F. C won RM1,200 and third place, Baqaquk won RM800.

The women's champion, De Reunion bagged RM1,000, while the losing finalist, Rascal took home RM800 and third place, Excel, won RM500.

Liew said the event, which was organised to promote a healthy society as well as inter racial harmony, was a success.

According to him, the competition was opened to all regardless of race and religion in line with the 1Malaysia concept.
