Futsal team to attend Asia tourney

For the first time ever, the national futsal squad will attend the finals of the 2010 Asia Futsal Championship scheduled for May 23-30 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Coached by Italian Sergio Gargelli, the team is bracketed in Group C together with teams from Thailand, Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea.

Vietnam is scheduled to take on the Republic of Korea on May 23, Kyrgyzstan on May 24 and Thailand on May 25.

The Vietnamese footballers just completed a training camp in Spain, where they competed in four friendly matches.
