Press TVIran routs Japan 7-0 to enter AFC finalSat, 29 May 2010Defending champion Iran has advanced to the final of the AFC Futsal Championship 2010 following a 7-0 victory against Japan.
Masoud Daneshvar was the first on the scoreboard with a goal in the first minute before adding a second goal 11 minutes later at Uzbekistan Sports Complex on Friday.
Mostafa Tayyebi grabbed the third for the Iranian side in the 21st minute before Javad Asgharimoqaddam got his first of the night three minutes later.
Asgharimoqaddam scored again in the 27th minute and completed his hat-trick nine minutes to the final whistle.
Mohammad Keshavarz Nasrabadi then wrapped up the scoring for the Iranian outfit in the 35th minute of the game.
Iran's manager Hossein Shams admitted that defeating Japan enabled his players to use the right tactics and secure their passage to the AFC Futsal Championship 2010 final.
“This game was not the first time we have met the Japanese team so we knew all about their strengths and weaknesses,” Shams said.
“When we scored our second goal, I realized that our rival would put all their players outfield and that enabled us to go on and get such a great result,” he went on to say.
Iran should now prepare for a stunning 10th Asian title against host Uzbekistan, which earlier snatched a 4-3 win over China on Sunday.
The Iranian side has only failed to win the tournament once in the last decade. Iran's showdown with Uzbekistan will be the first time the two sides have met in the final of the tournament since 2001, when Iran eased to a 9-0 victory.
