Iran, Uzbekistan to play finals in AFC Futsal Championship

Iran has high hopes to seal its 10th title of the AFC Futsal Championship by playing Uzbekistan on Sunday.


Iran heavily defeated Japan 7-0 and Uzbekistan narrowly beat China 4-3, and consequently both teams reached the finals. This is Uzbekistan’s second time in the finals. In the match in 2006 they were beaten 5-1 by Japan.

The finals will be held at the Uzbekistan Sports Complex. China and Japan will play for third place.

Iran’s futsal team, a.k.a. the Persian Kings, have won the AFC Futsal title nine times out of ten championships
