Iran Futsal team wins Asian title

Iran's national Futsal team has thrashed Uzbekistan 8-3 to celebrate its tenth AFC Futsal Championship title, extending its reign over Asian Futsal.

The Iranian squad came from two goals behind to end the first half 3-2 in its favor.

The host brought the game to a 3-3 in the beginning of the second half, but it was not long before Iran dominated the match, ending the Uzbek squad's hopes of winning its first Asian Futsal title in its third appearance in the final match.

Earlier on Sunday, Japan defeated China 6-1 to stand in third place.

Since the beginning of the tournament in 1999, Iran has claimed 10 of the 11 titles, losing the 2006tournament, which was also held in Uzbekistan, to Japan.
