Players invited to attend Futsal trials

A TOTAL of 45 players have been invited to attend the second National Futsal trials starting this Thursday in Suva.

Fiji FA Technical Director Saiyad Ali says the plan is to gauge players capable of donning the national jumper at the 2010 OFC Futsal Championship which will be held in Fiji from August 9-14.

The three-day national futsal trials concludes on Sunday

Ali says a panel consisting of Fiji FA development officers has been named to conduct the trials. The Technical Director also says that OFC Futsal Project Manager Scott Gilligan will be in the country to assist the national side in July.

"We had the first trials earlier this year and this is the second one. Following this trials the squad will return in July. Scott Gilligan the OFC Futsal Project Manager will join us in July where the squad is expected to be finalized.

"A panel of coaches consisting of Hussein Sahib, James Muir and Tama Vosuqa will be conducting the trials this week and later on the panel will be assisting Scott," Ali said. The Technical Director said that Fiji Football Association Vice President Mr Anil Sharma would be the National Futsal side's team director while Krishneel Sharma the manager.
