Fiji TimesFutsal side out to improveSaturday, June 05, 2010THE Fiji Futsal team to the Oceania Futsal Championship this year will be a much better prepared side compared to team that represented Fiji last year.
Those were the words of Fiji Futsal Commission Secretary Jainendra Sukhu as the Futsal squad continues its four day training camp in Suva.
Sukhu said they have learnt a lot from their preparations for last year's tournament and have worked out ways to improve their preparations this year.
"Last year we came into the OFC Futsal Championships straight after the Fiji Fact tournament."
"We had part of the team at the start of the tournament and the rest of the players joined after the end of the Fact tournament," Sukhu said.
"We had lost to the Solomon Islands 5-3 during pool play but when we met them again in the final we were thrashed 8-1."
Sukhu said they want turn that around this time.
"We now have two months to prepare our team for the OFC Futsal tournament and I believe we should do better this year."
"We know the Solomon Islands will be the favorites but we will coming better prepared this time and we want to finish on top."
Sukhu said they are happy that this year they will be assisted during training by the Fiji FA Development Officers.
