BORO HOST LIVERPOOL IN SEASON FINALE Middlesbrough Futsal Club play their final game of the 2009-2010 season on Sunday at Thornaby Pavilion when Liverpool Futsal Club make the journey to Teesside for the 2pm kick off.
Boro are hoping to overhaul Leeds in fourth place, while Liverpool need a win to guarantee their league status. East Coast Futsal Club also travel north to play in a couple of matches against Boro’s reserve and under-15s teams to make it a fun filled day of futsal.
With the season coming to an end, manager Damon Shaw is looking forward to a break to regroup and rebuild ahead of next season.
“We’ve had a disappointing season, but we aren’t far off being able to challenge for the title. The summer will be spent recruiting players and securing funding to mount a serious assault next season. I’ve got a good core of players and I want to add some quality and experience to make sure we are there at the top next season,” he said.
“I’ve got a few players in mind and we’ll be holding open trials to identify some new talent. We also need to raise around £10,000 so we have a few fundraising events lined up and are encouraging local businesses to contribute in the form of player sponsorships.”
Boro reserves kick off at 12.30 against East Coast before the under-15s take on their counterparts. The FA Futsal League fixture, Boro vs. Liverpool kicks off at 2pm. Entry for the day is £2 adults and £1 kids, or £4 for a family ticket. Due to work being done at Thornaby Pavilion, tickets are limited and must be reserved or bought in advance.
