Futsal Championship games to be held in Naklua

On Tuesday at City Hall, Deputy Mayor Wattana Chantawaranon and sports instructors from the Pattaya School Group announced the “Young Futsal Championship Games 2010” which will take place at Lan Po Park in Naklua from the 26th of June to the 11th of July. Futsal is played in the same manner as our beloved football game, only with 5 players and usually on a smaller, indoor playing surface. The name Futsal is the official, shortened version of the Portuguese and Spanish futbol de salon. Thailand’s national team is considered to be one of the finest in Asia.

City hall and the school sports instructors are working to encourage young people to pursue healthy activities such as futsal, and to stay away from drugs by spending more of their free time keeping fit and exercising. It is hoped that Pattaya will become known for its sports teams. Lan Po Park in Naklua was chosen to be the venue for the playoffs as an ideal way to promote this beautiful corner of the city. City Hall would like to encourage all residents to come to Naklua to watch these matches in the park.
