Anthony WoolfordA YOUTH ‘World Cup’ for teenagers in Barry has been hailed a big success, without a vuvuzela in sight.
Doing their best to emulate the silky skills of the Spanish, more than 150 youngsters aged 12 to 17 took to the fields at Barry Comprehensive School to play in a World Cup-style ‘futsal’ tournament co-organised by Vale of Glamorgan Council.
In the 12 to 14 age group, ‘My Nan FC’ emerged as the winners. Meanwhile, a group of Barry Comprehensive School pupils ‘BMRT FC’ were celebrating a victory on home turf in the 15 to 17 age category.
