The 2010 Calvo's Men's Futsal League started their playoff quarterfinals last night at the Astumbo gym, where the teams competing will be playing in single-elimination matches.

The Quality Distributors eliminated DeYo with a 7-1 loss.
Both teams started off the game with a lot of intensity and speed, attacking each other's goals. But the first to strike was Matt A. Cruz in about the 5th minute for Quality. Closely following, teammate Matt P. Cruz delivered the second goal of the match off a neat pass from a teammate in the 9th minute.

Both teams started to get even more aggressive as time wound down in the first half. But Quality again was the quickest to take advantage as Matt A. Cruz hit another shot with just 47 seconds left in the half.
Trailing by three goals, DeYo knew they had to step up their defense and offense in the second half. A run by DeYo's Cheyne Robles and Dustin Alger gave Quality a scare, but a deflection off Quality's defense sent Alger's shot grazing over the crossbar and out of play. Deyo wasn't able to do much with the corner kick as Quality's defense was quick to clear it out of trouble.
In the 22nd minute of the second half, Quality's James Bush found teammate Lynval McKenzie to add another score for their team.
DeYo redoubled their effort but all their offensive attempts were foiled , and Quality maintained its good defensive strategy.
Quality's Andre Gadia then put the game on ice with a goal that made the score 5-0. To add to that, as the clock wound down, Bush found a good angle to sink another shot with less than two minutes left on the clock.
Finally, DeYo's Paul Alger put his team on the board with less than a minute to play.
However, Quality's Bush answer back with his second goal of the game to go along with his earlier assist.

Other playoff results:

•Guam Shipyard defeated FC Guahan by forfeit.

•Paintco Strykers 7, Fuji Ichiban Espada FC 3: Christian Dickson and Tatsuya Kawauchi scored twice for the Strykers, while Hiro Asoshina, Joseph Cruz and Mark Chargualaf contributed one apiece. For Espada, Marvin Redona, Natsuki Recella and Sasank Kotwal found the back of the net.

•Cobras 5, Crushers FC 0: Jan Flores put up a hat trick, while Randy Santos struck twice for the Cobras.
