Mandy FC 2 futsal tourney champs

MUKAH: Mandy FC 2 futsal team emerged champions when they outclassed Mandy FC 1 with a big scoreline of 6-3 in the final of Futsal Closed Tournament organised by Batu Mas Saberkas Unit of Mukah yesterday.

CJ-7 FC grabbed third position after they defeated Kingways FC 3-2 in penalty shootout after both teams were tied at 0-0 in full time.

All the top four winning teams walked home with trophies and medals presented by Dewan Suarah Mesra Mukah manager Major (Retired) American Wayne who was the guest-of-honour at the tournament held at the Ministry of Social Development and Urbanisation (KPSU) Mukah indoor stadium.

Versatile player Hijori Junaidi emerged top scorer when he scored 17 goals in the tournament that attracted a total of 12 teams comprising of Lakei Pupuh, Kingways FC, Batumas 2010, Ragei FC, Mandy FC 1, Seven FC, ABC FC, CJ 7 FC, Nine FC, K-Zen, Pegei FC and Mandy 2 FC.

Among those present at the final were Pemuda PBB Balingian youth chief Ryandy Teckim and organising chairman Awang Mohaini Awang Chee who is also chairman of Batu Mas Saberkas Unit and treasurer of Mukah District Saberkas.

In another development during the final, Ryandy Teckim also presented RM2,000 financial assistance from Member of Parliament (MP) for Mukah Dato Sri Dr. Muhammed Leo Michael Toyad to Batu Mas Saberkas Unit to finance their activities.
