Futsal champs

With rosters comprising soccer players from the WPIAL and City League, two teams from Western Pennsylvania swept the boys and girls under-16 titles earlier this month at the Futsal National Championships in Long Beach, Calif.

A local member of the boys team was Plum's Shane Rings, who plays on the Mustangs' varsity squad.

Futsal is a five-on-five variant of soccer played on indoor courts.
