AFC invites entries for Futsal C'ship

Kuala Lumpur: AFC has invited all the eligible Member Associations to participate in the AFC Futsal Championship 2012 qualifiers.

A Member Association is deemed eligible as long as it has an active Futsal Committee under the Member Association's Organisation.

In a letter sent to the AFC's Member Associations, AFC has also announced the qualification format for the 12th AFC Futsal Championship.

The qualifying rounds will be held in 2011 according to zones (East, West, South and Central and ASEAN). The top three finishing teams from each zone will advance to the final round.

Further detals about this will be announced upon the confirmation and evaluation of the entries.

Sixteen teams will vie for the top honours in the Finals which will be played at a centralised venue centrally. Twelve out of 16 Finalists will make the grade from the qualifiers. Top three teams from the previous edition (Iran, Uzbekistan and Japan respectively), plus the host country have been given a direct entry into the Finals.

Deadline for the submission of entries is September 1, 2010.
