A National Grassroots Centre at Ta’ Qali

The MFA is now working on building a National Grassroots Centre at Ta’ Qali for the needs of the national teams (under 19 and Under 17), the women’s national teams, the FUTSAL national team and the players in the MFA’s School of Football.

UEFA has already paid the amount of euro 500,000, while the association has obtained a loan of the same amount from the Bank of Valletta and a sum of euro 200,000 from FIFA.

This project is to consist of a stand with a capacity of 1,200 – part of it is to be covered. Beneath the stand, there will be dressing rooms with all the needs for players and referees, rooms for coaches, a hall for FUTSAL training, a conference hall, a media section, public toilets and bar area.

The surface of pitch No. 3 at the present training area is to be turned into a FIFA Two Star level artificial grass.

This project is now awaiting permission from MEPA. This is expected before the end of the year.
