Futsal league wraps up

The 2010 Guam Football Association Calvo's Insurance Men's Futsal League is in the books, and the Quality Distributors are the champions of the league.

Quality defeated Guam Shipyard 8-2 on Aug. 1 to take the title, led by Matt Welton's three goals. But Welton got lots of help from his teammates, namely Matt Cruz and Eric Sotto, who recorded two apiece, and Alan Jamison, who added one.

The Paintco Strykers bagged third place after they defeated the Cobras 6-3 in their consolation match earlier in the evening behind two goals from Christian Dickson.

Masaya Kawauchi, Tetsuya Kawauchi and Hiro Asoshina also scored for the Strykers in the victory.

The league awarded Welton the Golden Shoe Award, while the Fair Play Award went to Fuji Ichiban Espada F.C.
