Brabus A are the 'Big Brother'

10/8/2010

KUALA LUMPUR: Brabus A FC proved to be the masters of the U R My Bro Unity Futsal Carnival by emerging champions over the weekend.
Brabus A beat Ball Buster FC 3-1 in the final.

Brabus A had beaten Damansara Utama Methodist Church 2-0 in the semi-final while Ball Buster FC triumphed 3-1 over D'Rendang Enterprise.

A record 60 teams with players below 25 years old, took part in U R MY Bro event, with the "bro" term often used by Malaysian youths of different races to reflect camaraderie and friendship in casual talk.

The carnival saw all the teams having participants of at least two races at all times on the court.

This was the requirement of the organisers to promote the spirit of unity through sports.

The carnival was a joint initiative between the Department of National Unity and SportsUnite Sports Club with the support of Milo, Revive Isotonic Drinks and Figos.

Most teams comprised college students, which was the target group of the organisers.

Department of National Unity director general Datuk Azman Amin said: "We are happy with the response and level of sportsmanship displayed by all teams. We see immense value and effectiveness in promoting unity through sports and are very happy to work with SportsUnite which has been promoting this simple vision for a long time."
