Humuni in top form

FORWARD Cedrick Humuni took his tally to eight after scoring four goals to help New Caledonia record its first win in the Oceania Futsal Championship.

New Caledonia beat Tuvalu 9-2 on Thursday night.

Following match day four results, Kurukuru star and last year's golden boot award winner Micah Lea'Alafa was the top scorer with 10 goals.

Humuni was second while Kurukuru captain Elliot Ragomo and Kiwi Micky Malivuk had scored seven goals each.

After consecutive losses against Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tahiti and Fiji, the Erick Michalak-coached side finally found it rhythm and outplayed Tuvalu in all departments.

Captain Loic Caunes, Louis Waishitine, Yoann Waikedre and Caryl Thepinier also scored in the win while New Caledonia was also gifted with an own goal from Tuvalu.
