2010 Chinese Taipei National Futsal Championship

Taiwan Sports Ministry Futsal Cup, also called the National Futsal Championship, held every year by Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA), is the main Club competition in FUTSAL.

In the last edition held in 2008, Men's winner was TAIWAN POWER CO.Team and Women's winner was TAIPEI-SCSC Team.

After a long 12 months wait, the National Championship resumed with the Women's Competition on August.4th in the southern city of TAI-NAN
at the Chang-Rong University Gymnasium.

In the first round, 10 teams were divided in to 3 groups. After the group matches TAIWAN SPORTS ACADEMY Team looked to have the upper hand in the championship as they were the only theam with a 100% record, all wins with convincing scores. The defending champions TAIPEI-SCSC also topped their group but with a shaky 2 draws and a win record. In the quarter-finals and the semi-finals it was more of the same. While TAIWAN SPORTS ACADEMY cruised in to the final with a comfortable 5:0 win against SPORTS ACADEMY-2 team , TAIPEI-SCSC barely got the final's ticket against a persistant SHING-WU Team with a 4 : 2 scoreline only in the extra-time.

In the final, TAIPEI-SCSC were the better organised team and did not make mistakes in the defence and that allowed them to counter attack and put TAIWAN SPORTS ACADEMY under stress. The final score 3 : 1 to TAIPEI-SCSC ment that this was a second in a row thropy for them.

Clearly women’s FUTSAL has come a long way in Taiwan. Indeed, 2010 undoubtedly will offer an inspiring new chapter in the history and development of women’s FUTSAL as the Taiwanese Women's teams were able to compete against their better established Japanese counterparts from Osaka in a series of friendly matches in June.2010 in Taipei.

The next target for the Taiwanese women is the only International Futsal competition for Women in Asia: namely the Asian Indoors Games which will be held in Qatar in 2013.

Men's competiton will also be held in TAI-NAN with the first round matches starting on August.15
