Kings Langley win futsal

17 Aug, 2010

OH, what a feeling .. it's better than winning a car.

How good? Read these reactions.

Brittney Clifford: ``Wow, what a day.''

Ash Krenich: ``It was awesome.''

Sophie Hamilton: ``It feels great.''

Bethany Parker: ``I can't believe we won.''

Ash Simpson: ``It was great.''

A.J. McKenzie: ``We all had a fantastic time.''

The girls formed the Kings Langley Public School team that won the state futsal, or indoor soccer, title in Penrith. The senior girls had qualified as the Sydney Metropolitan West champions for a title which 316 schools competed for.

Kings Langley beat St Charbell's College 6-0, Clovelly 2-0 and Our Lady of Nativity 5-0 on route to the semi-finals.

They equalised 2-2 with 10 seconds left in the semi against Canberra's Flinders Street Public School, before Ash Krenich scored a cracking extra-time winner. Kings Langley virtually had the grand final against All Saints College won when they led 4-0 at half-time, and coasted home 4-2.
