THE PYF Winter 2010 sessions continue this Friday night at Bell’s Sports Centre with the next stage of league games and coaching sessions.

There are still openings for the PYF Skillz School, which is open to children aged up to 13 years old – anyone interested in participating can register by contacting PYF or turning up for the 6pm session.

Session times are as follows: 6–7pm PYF Skillz School; 7–8pm 14/15 League; 8–9pm PYF Saltires coaching session; 9–10pm 16/17 League. Participation cost is ฃ2 per hourly session, as well as a one-off season registration fee of ฃ3. All players must complete and submit a parental consent form before they will be allowed to participate.

This season, the PYF Saltires squads (Under 14s, 16s and 18s), encompassing players from each of the leagues and from the PYF Skillz School, will undergo regular training sessions so as to prepare them for the challenges of upcoming trips to play in England, Ireland and Belgium, as well as next summer's trip to Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid.

The Perth Saltires team commenced the defence of their league title last Monday night when they faced Bayern Bru in their opening encounter in the 2010/11 Scottish Futsal League. It was a baptism of fire for several youth players as they encountered their first experience of Futsal at this level, but the team performed admirably and secured an encouraging 9–3 win to get their season off to a flying start.

The team has another game on Monday night when they face tough opposition in the form of Unreal Madrid, the players of whom formed the Perth Saltires squad last season and helped the club to a league and cup double.

The PYF Level 1 coaching course continues tonight (Friday) and will run over the next two weeks.

Registrations for The Perth Youth Futsal Tote club have now started, with the first draw due to be held on Friday, September 24, cost ฃ7 to participate and consists of seven monthly draws. Entry deadline is Friday, September 24 and all those interested in participating should contact the club asap.

The club is also planning to run a fundraising Race Night on Saturday, September 25, at the 208 Hotel to help raise funds for the PYF Saltires squad and their upcoming trips. It's a 7pm start and all are welcome to attend.
