Perthshire AdvertiserFutsal updateSep 17 2010Perth Youth FutsalTHERE are no PYF Winter 2010 sessions this Friday, they resume next Friday night (September 24) at Bells Sports Centre with the next round of league games as well as the coaching sessions.
There are still openings for the PYF Skillz School, which is open to children aged up to 13 years old anyone interested in participating can register by contacting us or turning up for the 6pm session.
There have been changes to the session times, in particular to those affecting the 16/17 league.
Session times now are: 67pm PYF Skillz School; 78pm 14/15 League; 89pm 16/17 league; and 910pm PYF Saltires coaching session. Participation cost is £2 per hourly session. All players must be registered and have submitted a parental consent form before they can participate.
Work is ongoing to form the PYF Saltires squads (Under 14s, Under 16s and Under 18s) who will undergo regular training sessions so as to prepare them for the challenges of upcoming trips to play in England, Ireland, Belgium and Spain.
Perth Saltires suffered their first defeat of the season on Monday night when they lost to Unreal Madrid in an enthralling end-to-end game. The result was not unexpected, as the opposition formed the basis of the Perth Saltires team who won the League and Cup double last season. The new-look Perth Saltires team will be hoping to get back onto the winning trail when they meet Perth Brasil on Monday night in what is sure to be another tough encounter.
The PYF Level 1 coaching course continued last Friday and will be completed at the next session. There are plans to hold another Level 1 course at the end of October, and it will be open to non-PYF coaches. Anyone interested in attending, or joining PYF as a coach, should email the club for more information.
Registrations for The Perth Youth Futsal Tote club have now started cost is £7 to participate and consists of seven monthly draws. Entry deadline is Friday, September 24 and all those interested in participating should contact the club asap.
The club is also planning to run a fundraising Race Night on Saturday, September 25, at the 208 Hotel to help raise funds for the PYF Saltires squad and their upcoming trips. Its a 7pm start and all are welcome to attend.
