22 Sep, 2010

CAMPBELLTOWN Quake Futsal Premier League teams launched into their first round of the new 2010/2011 season against the newly promoted Enfield Rovers at Minto Indoor Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Quake collected 19 club championship points from five wins, two draws and two losses.

The 12 boys came from behind to win 4-3 with Liam McGing claiming two, Anthony Haddad scoring one and one own goal by Enfield Rovers.

The 12 girls drew 1-1 with Shania Rose Pourashidi scoring Quake's only goal.

The 14 boys lost 3-2 with Sebastian Malfara and Ben Rodriguez scoring one each.

A red card to Sebastian Malfara affected the games' momentum and Enfield scored a late winner.

The 14 girls' Laura Murtagh scored a double and Jemma Crane scored one for the girls to win 3-0.

The 16 boys had an emphatic win hammering the Rovers 6-2.

A nice hat trick went to Bruno Antelmi supported by Shannon Fielding, Alex Dizio and Jake McGing who each got one for themselves.

The 16 girls didn't fair so well, going down 3-1.

Katherine Hawker was the only scorer to get past the Rovers' defence.

The Youth Men had an exciting high scoring game ending in a 5-5 draw. Brendon Riley and Reuben Agyei-Danso both grabbed two goals and Daniel Rees added one.

The open women started their campaign to hang onto their premiership title with a clear 3-0 win and goals going to Stephanie Haim and Linda Dudek with a Rovers own goal making up the third.

In the open men's game there was a high scoreline of 8-4 as Danny Martinez, Tuan Cao, and Ian McAndrew scored two a piece.
