Quake Futsal tournament in finals mode

The Labasa Quake Futsal Association will hold its quarter-finals today at the FSC Labasa Futsal Park.

President Kamendra Naidu said the players' skills and knowledge about Futsal League had increased since its launch in April this year.

"We have many talented players and it is good to see their skills are developing in this sport. Even though we play on soil, the players have shown real commitment towards the game and day by day they have shown improvement with their skills," Naidu said.

The tournament also features popular players from Fiji five-a-side team including Roy Krishna, Ajesh Narayan and Sandeep Nair, who play for Bank of Baroda.

Some players from Savusavu district team are also playing in this tournament which is sponsored by Sun and Daven P Sharma Insurance (Suva) and Fiji Sugar Co-operation Labasa.

In the league points, Pool A's four top teams are Batinikama Combine with 28 points, Basoga 25 points, Sangam 24 points and Urata 23 points.

Bank of Baroda leads Pool B with 33 points then Qawa at 28, Tabia 22, and Police B 22 points.

Today's games:

Batinikama vs Tabia; Bank of Baroda Sangam Sports; Basoga United vs Police B; Qawa vs Urata
