Azerbaijani futsal team to play Spain in Euro-2012 qualifier

A drawing of the European championship-2012 qualifier in futsal has been held in Swiss Nyon.

A record 42 teams are competing for 11 places in the finals early in 2012 alongside hosts Croatia. Of those, 18 have been given a bye to the six qualifying round groups played from 24 to 27 February 2011, with section winners to go through to the finals alongside the five best runners-up.

By results of the drawing Azerbaijani team is in group A. The matches of this group will be held in Baku. It will involve the teams from Azerbaijan, Spain, Kazakhstan, as well as winner of the preliminary group D with participation of Lithuania, France, Bulgaria, Malta.

The final stage of the European championship will be held in Zagreb and Split in February 2012.
